Announcement for Students Who Will Complete Their Internship
Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering
In accordance with the “Regulation on the Procedures and Principles of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Training for Employees”, the employer of the workplace where the internship is carried out is primarily responsible for providing occupational health and safety training and information to interns. However, the same Regulation states that OHS training completed at the student’s home institution may be accepted by the internship employer as a substitute for the basic training, provided that the employer approves it.
Within this scope, it is planned that our University will provide the 16-hour “Basic Occupational Health and Safety Training” required for the “Very Dangerous Class” category. The first of the trainings planned for the 2026–2027 academic year has been completed, and the remaining sessions will be held face-to-face according to the schedule below:

1. Eligibility for Participation: You may attend any one of the training sessions. To participate, you must notify the Department Secretariat no later than 5 days before the start date of the session you wish to attend.
2. Mandatory Attendance: In accordance with the relevant legislation, full (100%) attendance is required throughout the training. Students who do not attend all sessions in full will have their training deemed invalid.
3. Exemption from Course Absences for Participants: Students who attend all training sessions will be excused from course absences for the two (2) days of the training. Students who do not attend all sessions will not be granted this exemption.
4. Examination Rights for Students Who Complete the Training: Each student will be given a total of two examination attempts, and no additional attempts will be granted. For each of the four training programs, the participant lists will be reviewed after the training is completed to determine which students are eligible to take the examination. The examination will open on the fourth business day after the end of the relevant training and will remain open for two days. It will be held online (asynchronously), accessible either through the “İSG Temel Eğitim” (Basic OHS Training) module in BYS or directly at https://isg.ktu.edu.tr:8075/. The examination lasts 20 minutes and consists of 20 questions. Students may also take the examination on their mobile phones. Students who fail the examination and wish to use their second attempt may do so within the same examination period, using the same platform and under the same time limit.
5. Certification Rules: Students who pass the examination will be issued a certificate, which will be generated online promptly after the examination is completed. Students who do not meet the full (100%) attendance requirement will not be eligible to take the examination and therefore cannot be issued a certificate. Certificates are valid for one (1) year from the date of issue.
