Econometrics is a branch of science that uses mathematical and statistical methods to analyze economic data in order to confirm or reject economic theories. The main objective of the Department of Econometrics is to train econometricians who can find solutions to economic problems by using mathematical and statistical techniques. The curriculum of the Department of Econometrics includes courses such as statistics, econometrics, mathematics, micro and macro economics, international economics and business administration. 

Students who prefer the Department of Econometrics are especially those who have the ability of analytical thinking or who want to improve this ability, are interested in numbers and are willing to use computer programs.
