The Mining Awards periodically established by the Foundation for the Development of Domestic Mining (YMGV) have found their recipients. In this context, Prof. Dr. İzzet KARAKURT, a faculty member in our Department of Mining Engineering, has been awarded the 2023 Science Award.

The Science Award is given to encourage those who contribute to the development of mining in Türkiye through their work. The award was presented to our academic on October 23, 2024, in a ceremony held in Ankara, which was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Abdullah TANCAN.

Prof. Dr. İzzet KARAKURT, who has previously received many awards, was recently included in the “World's Most Influential Scientists 2023 List,” published annually in collaboration with Elsevier and Stanford University, in the “Annual Impact” and “Career-Long Impact” categories.
