The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics was established within the Faculty of Science on August 17th, 2011 in accordance with the Article 7 / d-2 of Law No: 2547 also amended by Law No. 2880. The department consists of seven disciplines: Genetics, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Gene Engineering, Molecular Cell Biology, Bioinformatics and Operational Biology and System Biology. The Department maintains its educational and research & development with its young and dynamic faculty members consisting of 16 members; 5 Professor, 4 Associate Professors, 2 Assistant Professors and 4 Research Assistants. It commenced the education for the first time in 2017-2018 academic years with the Undergraduate Program. The Molecular Biology and Genetics Master's Program was inaugurated at August 15th, 2018. Its prestigious Doctorate Program in Graduate Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences was also inaugurated at May 20th, 2020.
