Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy Üniversitesi, Gıda Tarım ve Hayvancılık Meslek Yüksekokulu, Bitkisel ve Hayvansal Üretim Programında görev yapmaktadır. İstanbul Üniversitesi Orman Fakültesi, Orman Genel Müdürlüğü Batı Akdeniz Ormancılık Araştırma Enstitüsü ve Karabük Üniversitesi Orman Fakültesi daha önce görev yaptığı kurumlardır. Bitki sosyolojisi temelli olarak hazırladığı doktora tezini 2007 yılında tamamlamıştır. Doktora sonrası vejetasyon ekolojisi konularında araştırmalarına devam etmiş ve Türkiye ormanlarının vejetasyon çeşitliliğini anlama noktasında önemli katkılar sağlamıştır. Ayrıca yangın ekolojisi, bitki biyolojik çeşitliliği ve silvikültür konularında araştırmalar gerçekleştirmiştir. Özellikle Akdeniz tipi ekosistemlerin yangın sonrası vejetasyon dinamiği noktasında kapsamlı araştırmalar gerçekleştirmiştir ve bu konudaki çalışmalarına halen devam etmektedir. Orman Genel Müdürlüğü Araştırma İhtisas Komisyonları Silvikültür ve Orman Botaniği Grubu Başkanlığı görevinde bulunmuştur. Karabük Üniversitesi Orman Fakültesinde Orman Mühendisliği Bölüm Başkanlığı yapmıştır. Türkiye Ormancılar Derneği Bilim Kurulu Üyesidir. Uluslararası Vejetasyon Bilimleri Derneği bünyesinde yürütülen Avrupa Vejetasyon Arşivi programı altında bulunan Türkiye Orman Vejetasyonu Veri Bankası’nın yürütücülüğünü yapmaktadır.
He works at the Department of Plant and Animal Production, Food Agriculture and Livestock Vocational School, Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University. Faculty of Forestry of Istanbul University, Southwest Anatolia Forest Research Institute under General Directorate of Forestry in Türkiye and Faculty of Forestry of Karabük University are the institutions where he worked before. He completed his doctoral thesis based on plant sociology in 2007. He continued his research on vegetation ecology after his doctorate and made important contributions to understanding the vegetation diversity of forests in Türkiye. He also carried out research on fire ecology, plant biodiversity and silviculture. He has carried out extensive research on the post-fire vegetation dynamics of Mediterranean-type ecosystems, and he still continues to work on this subject. He served as the head of the Silviculture and Forest Botany Group of Forestry Research Specialization Commissions of General Directorate of Forestry in Türkiye. He was the head of Forest Engineering Department at Faculty of Forestry of Karabük University. He is a member of the Scientific Committee of Turkish Foresters Association. He is the custodian of the Forest Vegetation Database of Türkiye, which is under the European Vegetation Archive of International Association of Vegetation Sciences.
