Developmental psychology, as a sub-branch of the science of psychology; examines the change experienced by individuals from fertilisation to death in physical - cognitive - social emotional areas. In developmental psychology, where the effects of time are particularly emphasised, prenatal, infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood and old age periods are studied. 

In the Department of Developmental Psychology at Karadeniz Technical University, there is one Assistant Professor, one PhD. Lecturer and one Research Assistant. Our faculty members who conduct their studies in this field actively continue their studies on topics such as family relationships in early childhood, parental involvement, social emotional development in children and adolescents, childhood temperament, cyberbullying, social cognition, internet addiction, alexithymia.
