What is IELTS?

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Exam is an international exam conducted to measure and evaluate the English language proficiency of people who want to work or study in countries where English is spoken. It is carried out in our country by the British Council and IDP Türkiye institutions. Karadeniz Technical University School of Foreign Languages ??has been the IELTS Exam practice center since 2014.

IELTS is a task-based test covering the four language skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking). IELTS candidates receive separate marks for the four components of the test. The average of these grades constitutes the overall exam grade. Each skill is evaluated between 1-9 points. The IETS score is calculated out of 9 by taking the average of the scores of the four skills.

IELTS Academic is designed for those who want to study in undergraduate and graduate programs at a higher education institution or apply to professional institutions, and IELTS General Training is designed to measure non-academic English language skills used in daily life. Our course is designed to be a preparation for both programs.

Who can apply?

Candidates who want to study abroad and apply for a job can join our course for the IELTS exam.

What are the course days and hours?

Monday (Reading) 17.30-20.30

Wednesday (Writing) 17.30-20.30

Thursday (Speaking/Listening, Online – Microsoft Teams) 17.30-20.30

The program, which will be implemented through 12 lessons per week, will last for 10 weeks. Course materials will be provided by students. Exam application procedures are made individually via www.idpieltsturkey.com.

How can I register?

Start date: 06 May 2024

End date: July 11, 2024

Note: Participants who wish to leave the program at any stage are obliged to pay the full fee. If quotas are filled, application order will be taken into account.

Registration for university students between 11 March 2024 and 06 May 2024 is made online through the KTU/BYS system. Registration for candidates who are not university students can be made at online.ktu.edu.tr. Our special promotional price for this period is 5,500 TL for all trainees. This fee is the total fee. No installments.

If you are a KTU student, select the "IELTS Course" option from the "KURSLARIM" tab in the "KTU BYS" system and follow the following procedures after 3 from the "KAYIT" menu.

If you are not a registered KTU student, follow the steps below;

1. Click on the "KAYIT" tab at online.ktu.edu.tr, register with the required information and then verify your e-mail.

2. After verification, log in to online.ktu.edu.tr.

3. Select Kurs İlanları from the Eğitim ve Kurslar tab.

4. On the page that opens, click on the “Kayıt” tab and create your registration.

5. Deposit the course fee of 5,500 TL to the Ziraat Bank IBAN number "TR 8300 0100 1225 1182 5144 5010" (Recipient: K.T.U. Circulating Capital Accounting Office) with the description "IELTS Kursu". Writing a description is essential for payment identification.

6. Upload the image of the receipt in "PDF FORMAT" to the receipt upload section in the "Kurslarım" tab in the "KTÜ BYS" system.

7. Send an e-mail containing your name, surname, course name and mobile phone information along with the image of the receipt to muratozturk@ktu.edu.tr.
