Mission

The mission of the KTU Department of Sociology is to educate sociologists who understand, explain, interpret, and critique the nature, structure, and dynamics of social life at both local and global levels and contribute scientifically to the generation of social, cultural, political, and economic policies aimed at identifying and resolving social issues, both locally and globally.

Vision

Our Department aims to be a scientific reference, consultancy, and focal point that produces social solutions, within the context of both local and universal perspectives, through scientific research and projects, and with a competent academic staff that is responsible for serving society. We also aim to evaluate sociological phenomena within the framework of scientific knowledge and understanding, and provide social solutions tailored to the needs of both the region of Trabzon and its surroundings, as well as the wider context of Türkiye as a whole.
