Software engineering, which has become popular in our country for the last 3-4 years, is a concept that was first mentioned at the NATO meeting in 1968. In the early 1980s, Software Engineering emerged as a real profession alongside computer science and traditional engineering. Software crises, which started with the development of technology, became unpreventable over time and were added to the engineering disciplines to provide control. Over time, methodologies and OOP concepts were developed and soon took their place in state universities in Turkey (in 2012). Considering the history of software engineering in our country, it has gained a very important place in the sector in a short time, although it does not date back to the previous periods. For this reason, it is advantageous for a department whose activities will increase gradually to join our university.

The Software Engineering Department, established in 2020 and will start education in the 2023-2024 academic year, has a five-year education period with the English preparatory class. Our department is a department that provides 100% English education. Students who pass the sufficient level in the exam held at the School of Foreign Languages within our university or who get enough points from the exams whose equivalence is accepted start their first year. In contrast, other students receive English preparatory education according to their level. It plans to start postgraduate education activities shortly after undergraduate education. To begin with, there are 4 Doctoral Faculty Members and 4 Research Assistants in the department. In the future, our department will continue to strengthen its academic staff with qualified instructors.
