At the ICT Competition 2025-2026 European Final organized by the China-based technology company Huawei, a student from the Department of Software Engineering at our University’s Faculty of Engineering, under the guidance of Assistant Professor Merve YILDIRIM; Toprak Ekin YÜKSEL, Efekan ÇAKIR, and Mete GÖKHAN; outperformed teams from France, Italy, Spain, Poland, Ukraine, Switzerland, Greece, and Germany to secure the “Grand” title—a ranking above the 1st Place Category—in the “Computing” field, making them Europe’s most successful team. The team will represent Turkey at the “Global Final” to be held in Shenzhen, China, in June.

In the Teaching Computation category, where instructors competed (during the previous competition period), Dr. Merve YILDIRIM, an Assistant Professor, became the first Turkish academic to win the “Most Valuable Instructor” Award by securing the “Grand Prize” for her project in the field of Network Technologies.
