Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) carries an important responsibility in preserving, developing, and promoting art and cultural heritage within society. Alongside student-led initiatives, the university also engages in a wide range of art and cultural activities through the contributions of academic units and institutional partners.
Annual concerts, exhibitions, theater performances, folk dance events, talks, and workshops not only enable our students to develop their artistic talents but also create an open cultural and artistic environment for the people of Trabzon. The Department of Fine Arts and various student clubs organize numerous public events involving local artists, thereby contributing to the region’s cultural life.
In addition, the KTU campus serves as a platform for artistic production through its open-air venues, exhibition halls, and conference centers. In line with the university’s mission, projects are carried out to preserve cultural heritage on both regional and national levels, supporting initiatives that sustain Trabzon’s deep-rooted history and the rich folkloric traditions of the Black Sea region.
Through these activities, KTU plays a key role not only as an academic institution but also as a cultural center that promotes art, leads cultural heritage preservation, and remains open to the community.
