One of the clearest examples demonstrating that childcare support was actively implemented in 2025 is the “Science and Fun Camp 2025” organised by the KTÜ Continuing Education Application and Research Centre. The programme was held over a four-week period from 30 June to 24 July 2025, operating four days a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 09:30 to 16:20. This enabled children to spend a substantial part of the day in a supervised and structured programme organised by the University. The fact that the programme ran for almost eight hours per day is particularly important in enabling parents to continue their academic, research, administrative, or other professional activities during the same period. The programme had a capacity of 36 children.
Rather than being a short-term recreational activity, the programme was designed to provide children with a safe, structured and educational environment throughout the day. Its content included coding and robotics, three-dimensional design, mathematics, arts activities, movement education and educational games, scientific experiments, university and laboratory visits, science talks, and activities aimed at developing life skills. The programme was delivered by specialist instructors and support staff. Lunch was also provided as part of the daily programme.
