Within BSUN, KTU facilitates knowledge and experience exchange among universities in the Black Sea region, carrying out collaborative research, congresses, and student exchange programs. KTU has joined the large-scale cooperation project “Future of Sustainable Forest Management – TRANSFORMIT”, launched to integrate societal needs with biodiversity conservation. The project targets biodiversity-friendly forest management by addressing concrete policy and practice requirements. Through a stakeholder engagement platform, it aims to create new synergies among forestry institutions, practitioners, forest owners, research organizations, certification bodies, and other actors, while developing evidence-based guidelines to expand Integrated (Holistic) Forest Management recommendations. The International Health Tourism Unit of KTU Farabi Hospital was inaugurated on 9 February 2024. As a pioneering institution in Trabzon’s health tourism ecosystem, the Hospital delivers quality healthcare to patients from across Türkiye—especially the Black Sea Region—and to citizens from 124 countries including Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Saudi Arabia. KTU participated in NAFSA 2024, one of the world’s largest international education fairs, held in New Orleans on 28–31 May 2024. The delegation—led by the Rector and senior administrators—held numerous meetings to broaden international ties, particularly within Erasmus+. A cooperation protocol was signed with the Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (India) in the field of Dentistry. (News link)
With the support of KTU’s Department of Archaeology, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and the JICA Association, the panel on sharing museology experiences under Türkiye–Japan technical cooperation was held at the Prof. Dr. Osman Turan Culture and Congress Center, with broad participation from local authorities, university leadership, and stakeholders. Organized by the Exchange Programs Coordination Office, the event hosted 20 representatives from 12 universities across 10 countries.
