Electricity Usage Per Year (in Kilowatt Hour)

Karadeniz Technical University operates a comprehensive energy monitoring and management system aimed at reducing energy consumption across its campuses.

According to data from 2020–2024:

  • Electricity consumption decreased from 24.35 million kWh to 21.09 million kWh (a 13.4% reduction),
  • Natural gas usage decreased from 4.87 million m³ to 3.40 million m³ (a 30.2% reduction).

This reduction has been achieved through the use of energy-efficient devices, building insulation improvements, optimization of heating and cooling systems, and awareness initiatives promoting responsible energy use.

Through these efforts, KTÜ has significantly reduced its carbon footprint and established itself as a strong model in sustainable energy management.
