Karadeniz Technical University (KTÜ) places great importance on meeting the basic needs of its students and promoting sustainable lifestyle habits. In this context, free and safe drinking water is provided to all students through fountains and water dispensers located throughout the campus.

This practice ensures equal access to clean water while significantly reducing the consumption of single-use plastic bottles. The university’s infrastructure promotes sustainability and environmental responsibility by minimizing plastic waste generation and encouraging reusable container use.

Supported by regular maintenance and quality control procedures, this system guarantees a healthy, environmentally friendly, and accessible water network across the campus. Through these measures, KTÜ advances its commitment to SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation and SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production.
