Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) implements comprehensive Policies for Monitoring IUCN and Other Conservation Species to protect biodiversity within and beyond its campuses. These policies align with international frameworks such as the IUCN Red List and national conservation standards to ensure the protection of endangered and vulnerable species.
The university actively supports research, field observation, and data collection related to conservation species in collaboration with environmental organizations and local authorities. KTU promotes habitat preservation, ecological restoration, and sustainable land use practices that reduce human impact on sensitive ecosystems.
Through these initiatives, KTU contributes to SDG 14 – Life Below Water and SDG 15 – Life on Land by advancing biodiversity monitoring and ensuring long-term protection of species and their habitats.
