Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) has established comprehensive Paternity Policies to promote gender equality, family well-being, and work–life balance among its employees. These policies ensure that all eligible fathers and partners are granted paternity leave, flexible working options, and institutional support during the postnatal period.
The policy recognizes the shared responsibility of parenting and encourages equal participation of fathers in childcare and family life. It also reinforces the university’s broader goal of fostering an inclusive workplace culture that values family-friendly practices, equity, and employee welfare.
Through these measures, KTU contributes to SDG 5 – Gender Equality and SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth by promoting parental equity, supporting employee rights, and advancing social sustainability within the university.
