Our University implements various control and maintenance mechanisms, from the source of supply through to on-campus distribution, in order to protect the safety of drinking and utility water and to prevent polluted water from entering the clean water system.
The primary source of drinking water for KTÜ campuses is the municipal mains supply provided by TİSKİ. According to the University’s official information, TİSKİ regularly conducts periodic pollution and water-quality analyses on water supplied through the Esiroğlu Drinking Water Treatment Plant, which is fed by the Atasu Dam. Monitoring and control mechanisms are implemented in accordance with national and international standards to address potential pollution and accident-related risks.
Within the University campus, the Department of Construction and Technical Works regularly carries out maintenance and repair of the internal water infrastructure and takes preventive measures against contamination, leakage, or system failures that may occur during distribution. Regular inspections of transmission lines and internal building plumbing, together with early intervention in the event of water leaks, also form part of this system.
Accordingly, water safety is safeguarded through a two-stage control system: TİSKİ’s water-quality monitoring and treatment mechanisms at the source, and KTÜ’s maintenance, infrastructure inspection, and leak-prevention processes within the campus.
