Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) campus is designed as a public and accessible space. Entrances and exits to the university are supported by a modern security infrastructure, including surveillance camera systems and license plate recognition technologies. This ensures that the security and order of the campus are effectively maintained.
Access to academic and administrative buildings, as well as faculties within the university premises, is open to the public through security checks. Thus, campus visits are managed in a controlled, transparent, and safe manner.
The KTU campus is not only a hub for academic activities but also contributes to social and cultural life. Located along the Black Sea coast, one of Trabzon’s unique natural heritages, the campus offers visitors enjoyable experiences with its wide walking paths, green spaces, botanical arrangements, and open-air areas hosting social and cultural events.
In addition, the campus provides students and visitors with a wide range of social and sports facilities, including cafes, restaurants, canteens, guesthouses, student dormitories, gyms, tennis courts, football and basketball fields. These areas are accessible not only to university members but also, under certain conditions, to the city’s residents.
KTU’s campus policy balances security, sustainability, and its mission of being a university open to society. Thus, the university serves as both a center of scientific production and an important attraction that enriches the social life of Trabzon’s community.
