Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) adopts the principles of financial transparency, accountability, and good governance as core elements of its institutional management. Financial transparency ensures that all university stakeholders — including students, staff, researchers, and the public — have access to reliable information on how institutional resources are allocated, managed, and utilized.
Within this framework, KTU regularly publishes monthly financial statements that include detailed reports on income, expenditure, and budget distribution. These reports are prepared and audited in accordance with national public financial management standards and are made publicly available through the Department of Strategy Development . This proactive approach promotes institutional integrity and reinforces trust between the university and society.
KTU’s transparency efforts go beyond financial reporting. The university also conducts regular internal and external audits, monitors project-based fund utilization, and ensures compliance with ethical and legal frameworks related to public procurement, grants, and research funding. These practices contribute to efficient resource management, equitable allocation, and long-term institutional sustainability.
By maintaining open access to its financial data, KTU directly supports SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions through transparent governance and responsible public administration.
