The security unit provides 24/7 service to ensure protection and security on the campuses of Karadeniz Technical University. Our authority and responsibility include taking deterrent, preventive, and stop measures against all kinds of disasters and destructive activities; and intervening in cases of sabotage, robbery, accidents, traffic control, and first aid situations.
A total of 1 Security Branch Manager, 1 Security Chief, 10 Shift Supervisors, 2 Officers, 49 protection and security guards, and 88 security guards are employed at 27 security points across nine campuses. Of these, the Security Branch Manager, Security Officer, 9 shift supervisors, 2 officers, 42 protection and security guards, and 56 security guards are stationed at the Kanuni Campus. The personnel at the Kanuni campus are stationed at the 5 entrance gates within the campus and throughout the campus.
Security booths are located at the university entrance gates and at many points on campus, and security guards are on duty. Security cameras are also located at many points throughout the campus. In addition, fire hydrants are located at various points on campus for security purposes. In conclusion, the campus security and safety infrastructure is in place and fully functional, with a response time of less than 5 minutes for accidents, crimes, fires, and natural disasters.
