Smart Building Implementation

Karadeniz Technical University has widely implemented smart building systems across its campuses to enhance energy efficiency, safety, and user comfort.

As of 2024, 65.8% (300,854 m²) of the university’s total 456,945 m² indoor area meets smart building standards.

Within this framework:

  • Facilities such as the Farabi Hospital, Central Research Laboratory, Faculty of Engineering, and Faculty of Dentistry are equipped with integrated automation, energy monitoring, security, HVAC, and lighting systems.
  • Buildings including the Library, Rectorate, and Koru Hotel feature digitally managed lighting and security systems for improved energy savings and user safety.

Through these implementations, KTÜ is strengthening its sustainable, safe, and intelligent campus infrastructure and aims to make smart building technologies a standard feature in all future constructions.
