Smoke-free policy

Karadeniz Technical University (KTÜ) enforces a comprehensive Smoke-Free Policy across all its campuses, administrative buildings, and university-affiliated facilities. This policy aims to protect the health and well-being of students, academic staff, and visitors by maintaining a clean and healthy campus environment in accordance with national public health legislation and global sustainability standards.

The Smoke-Free Policy prohibits the use of all tobacco and nicotine products, including traditional cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and heated tobacco devices, in both indoor and outdoor university premises. Through awareness campaigns, educational materials, and supportive cessation programs, KTÜ promotes a culture of health consciousness and responsibility among all members of its community.

This initiative aligns with the objectives of SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being and SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities, reflecting KTÜ’s ongoing commitment to improving public health, reducing environmental pollution, and fostering a sustainable and inclusive campus ecosystem.
