Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) maintains a comprehensive dining services infrastructure to ensure adequate and balanced nutrition for students as well as academic and administrative staff. University-wide services are coordinated by the Department of Health, Culture and Sports, adopting a campus-wide approach to sustainable food security.
Meals are prepared in modern kitchens located on the Kanuni Campus under the supervision of food engineers, dietitians, and chefs. Menus are designed to be nutritionally balanced and hygienically compliant, and are served across dining halls situated in multiple KTU campuses.

Recognizing that the right to nutrition and the right to health are fundamental human rights, KTU has prepared a registration form to identify students with celiac disease in order to facilitate access to gluten-free foods. Based on feedback received, efforts have commenced to stock gluten-free products in canteens/cafeterias and vending machines, and to include gluten-free menus in university dining halls. Provision of gluten-free meal service in university dining halls is planned within the 2023–2024 academic year.

Pursuant to a Rectorate decision, QR code boards displaying up-to-date product prices have been placed in all canteens, cafés, and restaurants operating within the university. These boards are positioned in areas easily visible to users, enabling real-time access to current price lists via QR codes.
The initiative enhances transparency and accountability regarding pricing and service quality. The QR codes also direct users to a brief survey where they can evaluate the service they received, thereby conveying satisfaction and suggestions directly to university administration.
