Sustainable food from aquatic envs (policies)

Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) has developed a Sustainable Food from Aquatic Environments Policy to promote the responsible use and conservation of marine and freshwater resources. This policy establishes the university’s commitment to protecting aquatic biodiversity, supporting sustainable fisheries and aquaculture practices, and ensuring that food resources derived from aquatic ecosystems are managed in an environmentally and socially responsible manner.

The policy encourages research, education, and collaboration on topics such as ecosystem-based management, pollution prevention, and climate resilience in aquatic food systems. It also aligns with SDG 14 – Life Below Water, reinforcing KTU’s dedication to the sustainable use of ocean and freshwater resources.
