Our University applies standards and guidelines for the control of wastewater discharges in order to protect water quality and prevent potential adverse impacts on aquatic ecosystems, wildlife, and human health.

In 2025, Karadeniz Technical University managed the collection of campus-generated wastewater, its discharge into the sewerage system, and its safe final disposal in accordance with national environmental legislation and the technical and environmental standards established by the Trabzon Water and Sewerage Administration (TÄ°SKÄ°).

This approach is also institutionally defined on our University’s official Sustainability platform under the heading “Water Discharge Guidelines and Standards.” Accordingly, wastewater discharge, treatment, monitoring, permitting, and reporting processes are carried out in line with TÄ°SKÄ° regulations.
