Water Efficient Appliances Usage

Karadeniz Technical University is renewing all plumbing fixtures and sanitary installations across its buildings to enhance water efficiency throughout the campus.

Across the university, sensor-activated faucets, dual-flush toilets, sensor-based urinals, and low-flow showerheads are widely used. These systems ensure that water flows only when needed, preventing unnecessary consumption and making water savings permanent.

The maintenance and performance monitoring of all devices are carried out digitally through the Support Management System (DYS), which enables instant tracking of malfunctions, leaks, and usage data.

As a result of these implementations, KTÜ has achieved over 60% water efficiency across its campuses and demonstrates a model infrastructure management system in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation).
