Qualification Awarded

The students who have successfully completed all courses in the programme with 240 ECTS credits and achieved a CGPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 are given Bachelor's Degree in Labour Economıcs And Industrıal Relatıons.

 

Admission & Registration Requirements

1 - High school diploma, 2 - Obtaining the required grade from Undergraduate Placement Examination (LYS), 3. English proficiency (500 from TOEFL / 6 from IELTS), 4. An official paper indicates that an applicant has not a problem with his/her health condition, military service, etc. The application of the students who have started their education in other universities within or outside of the country is also possible. Recognition of Prior Learning

For this department, there is no obligation to take a foreign language preparatory class. There is an examination of exemption for some courses which are placed in the curriculum, as mandatory courses, such as basics of computer science and English etc. If the students have the ability of this kind of courses and have a passing grade from the exam, they are exempted from those courses which they pass.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

a) Passing all the courses which are placed in the curriculum with the grade DC, at least.

b) Having a CGPA at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

c) Preparing a graduate thesis, presenting it to the thesis committee and passing with a final grade.

Profile of the Programme

This programme has a great contribution to the students' knowledge and experiences in terms of the practical perspectives of the courses. Graduated students from this programme start working as an entrepreneur or a labor. Generally, they prefer working in the fields like banking, insurance, and accounting. In recent years, they are mostly employed in banks and research institutes.

Examination, Assessment and Grading Regulations

The examination, assessment, and grading regulations have been set up for the university by the University Senate. The Department of Labour Economıcs And Industrıal Relatıons is also bound by these regulations. Each course is assessed via a midterm exam and a final end-of-term exam, with contributions of 50%, and 50% respectively. The marking is made out of 100. Grades of 81-100 is assigned a letter grade of AA, 76-80 BA, 70-75 BB, 60-69 CB, 50-59 CC, 45-49 DC, 40-44 DD, 30-39 FD and 0-29 FF. The AA is the highest grade and has a grade credit of 4.00, BA 3.5, BB 3.0, CB 2.5, CC 2.0, DC 1.5, DD 1.0, FD 0.5 and FF 0.0. Grades of AA to CC are a pass, DD to FF fail, and DC is conditional pass and requires a CGPA of at least 2.0 for that term.

Graduation Requirements

The degree is awarded to students who have successfully completed a minimum of 172 local credits (240 ECTS) from the courses with a CGPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00. Also, they have to complete their graduate thesis with success. Students who have completed the duties stated above have the right to graduate with the title as the economist of labor.
