The management and sustainable utilization of living and non-living resources in the oceans are of utmost importance for the present and future of humanity. The diminishing availability of terrestrial resources due to various factors further highlights the significance of marine resources. In our country, which is surrounded by three sides by seas, the correct, conscious, and sustainable use of coastal and marine resources can only be achieved through their scientific investigation and management by experts. To be able to evaluate our surrounding seas in terms of political, strategic, and economic aspects and to benefit maximally from our coastal and marine resources, it is the main objective of our Institute to train experts and conduct scientific research.
