Faculty members from Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) Faculty of Marine Sciences, alongside project expert Prof. Dr. Mehmet Aydın from Ordu University (ORDU) Fatsa Faculty of Marine Sciences, represented the Turkish research team at the international IASON+ meeting held last week in Tbilisi and Batumi, Georgia. The delegation comprising KTU FMS researchers Prof. Dr. Fatma Telli Karakoç, Prof. Dr. CoÅŸkun Erüz, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rafet ÇaÄŸrı Öztürk, and Assistant Prof. Dr. Ä°lknur Yıldız—convened with international consortium partners from IBEDC Georgia, DUTH Greece, DDNI and DDBRA Romania, and IMB-NAS Ukraine. Focusing on aquatic ecosystem monitoring, invasive alien species management, and joint field inspections across protected wetlands, the meeting evaluated overall project milestones and reinforced cross-border scientific collaboration in the Black Sea basin.
