Within the scope of the TÜBÄ°TAK 1001 project titled “Phylogeny and Phytogeography of the Tribe Cichorieae (Asteraceae) in Southwest Asia with Focus on the Subtribe Chondrillinae, Crepidinae and Lactucinae Distributed in Turkey and Pakistan”, coded 122Z966, and led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Erdem GÜZEL, one of the faculty members of our department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Roohi Bano Abid, director of the Center for Plant Conservation, University of Karachi (Pakistan), and a researcher in the project, came to Turkey. She will continue her studies at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Faculty of Science for three months (July 2024-September 2024). During this period, they will conduct morphological, micromorphological and molecular phylogenetic studies on the relevant plant group under the supervision of the project manager Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Erdem GÜZEL.
