INFORMATION ABOUT KARADENİZ TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY (KTU)

Founded as a public university on the 20th of May, 1955, in the city of Trabzon, Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) is the fourth oldest university in the modern Republic of Türkiye. KTU has more than 30000 students studying at short cycle, bachelor, master and PhD levels. With about 90 departments in 12 faculties, 6 institutes and about 2100 teaching staff, KTU is one of the leading higher education institutions in Türkiye.

The university is located right next to the international airport on the Black Sea shore. The main campus, with its social and scientific facilities, is an outstanding site set in a wonderful nature, overlooking the Black Sea.


INTERNATIONALISATION AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AT KTU

Since its establishment, KTU is actively involved in international cooperation. International activities are facilitated and coordinated by the International Relations Office, which is structured in 3 separate units including Office of Exchange Programmes, Office of Internationalisation, and Office of International Student Affairs.

In a wide range of fields and within the framework of international exchange programmes, KTU collaborates with 150 partner institutions and has more than 200 cooperation agreements with European higher education institutions. There are nearly 300 mobilities every year within Erasmus+ Programme, considering the total number of outgoing mobilities (incoming mobilities included).


ERASMUS+ BIP " IMPACT OF VIDEO GAMES ON PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE DIGITAL AGE" 

  • Dates of Physical Mobility (Event Dates): 16-20 November 2026
  • Virtual Component: Before the physical mobility dates above
  • Event Venue: Karadeniz Technical University, Faculty of Science, Nazım Terzioglu Lecture Hall, Trabzon, Türkiye
  • Target Group: Bachelor or master degree students who are interested in gaming or video games. The event is interdisciplinary. Students from all study programmes or departments can attend the event. Nominated students should be from universities located in European Erasmus+ programme countries.
  • Required Language Level: Minimum B1 English 
  • Registration Fee: All activities offered in the programme are free of charge. There is no registration fee.
  • Other Expenses: Expenses regarding travel support and Erasmus+ grant should be covered by Erasmus+ budget of your home university.

  • Accommodation: Information about accommodation will be given later via e-mail for the nominated students.
  • Application Procedures: Your home university should announce an application period for this Erasmus+ BIP. They have to select and then nominate at least 5 students for the event. The selection criterias will be decided by your home university. If you are interested in attending this BIP as a student, please contact with the Erasmus+ Office of your home university.
