metallurgy and materials engineering

The department's main research areas are as follows: powder metallurgy and rapid solidification, composite materials, electrical materials and friction materials and tribology. The main working fields include metal production (iron and steel plants,non-ferrous metals) industries, metal forming (i.e. rolling casting) and heat treatment industries, glass making industry, structural and electronic ceramic industries, aerospace and shipbuilding industries.

The department offers master programme as well.
