The Department of Sociology was established in 2010. Sociology program provides a four-year training consisting of eight semesters. The main study fields in the department are General Sociology and Methodology, Sociology of Institutions, Applied Sociology, and Social Structure and Change.

The main objective of the program is to train competent and well-equipped sociologists at the national and international level.

In addition to the Bachelor's degree, the department offers master's program for those who wish to further their studies.
