STEIDA Collaboration Platform Released: A New Era of Digital and International Collaboration in Technology Transfer

Supported under the Erasmus+ Programme and coordinated by the Karadeniz Technical University Technology Transfer Application and Research Center (KTU TTM), the STEIDA Matchmaking & Collaboration Platform (MCP) — developed within the "Strengthening Technology Transfer Ecosystem through Innovative and Digital Approaches (STEIDA)" Project — aims to bring together stakeholders from the technology transfer and innovation ecosystem across 6 different countries in a digital environment.

Coordinated by the Karadeniz Technical University Technology Transfer Application and Research Center and carried out in partnership with the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce (BCC), the Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information (CVTI SR), the Jo?ef Stefan Institute (JSI), and the University of Zagreb (UNIZG), the STEIDA Project aims to strengthen collaboration between universities and the business world and to develop the technology transfer ecosystem through an innovative and holistic approach.

A Digital Collaboration and Matchmaking Environment

The STEIDA Matchmaking and Collaboration Platform has been designed to support knowledge and technology transfer at the national and international level among universities, researchers, businesses, entrepreneurs, students, and other stakeholders of the technology transfer ecosystem.

The platform enables different stakeholders to share their research, innovation, and collaboration needs in a digital environment and to discover suitable collaboration opportunities. In this way, it aims to increase interaction between academic knowledge and the business world, establish new partnerships, and transform research outcomes into economic and social value.

Who Is the Platform For?

The STEIDA Matchmaking and Collaboration Platform offers collaboration and interaction opportunities for:

  • Researches
  • Companies
  • Entrepreneurs
  • Students
  • Investors
  • Higher Education and Research İnstitutions
  • Research and Innovation Experts
  • Technology Transfer Offices and Business Representatives and Business Support Organizations.

By involving students as an active part of the ecosystem, the platform also aims to enhance interaction between universities and the business world while contributing to students' acquisition of new competencies.

Platform's Working Mechanism

By creating a profile on the STEIDA Platform, users will be able to explore a broad community of researchers, entrepreneurs, companies, and organizations, and connect with stakeholders who match their interests and expertise to develop new project and collaboration opportunities.

The STEIDA Platform offers different user groups — such as researchers, students, entrepreneurs, business representatives, technology transfer experts, research institutions, and business support organizations — the opportunity to create comprehensive and customized profiles tailored to their needs. Users can easily add and share their academic work and publications, ongoing projects, intellectual property, research and expertise areas, contact channels, product portfolios, and institutional information all on a single platform. This feature increases users' visibility and accessibility on the platform, contributing to the faster and more effective creation of suitable collaboration opportunities between researchers and the business world based on needs and expertise.

The STEIDA Platform invites its users into an ecosystem that supports cross-border collaborations and innovation-driven partnerships. It enables stakeholders from different countries to discover partners, projects, and talents, join existing projects, and develop new collaboration opportunities. It also contributes to making technologies, patents, prototypes, and research outputs visible and connecting them with the right stakeholders.

Opportunities Offered to Users

The main opportunities available to users who register on the platform can be summarized as follows:

  • Showcasing your expertise and competencies: You can make your academic work, projects, technologies, and areas of expertise visible.
  • Developing new collaboration opportunities: You can connect with researchers, entrepreneurs, companies, investors, and other organizations to build joint projects and collaborations.
  • Finding project and technology partners: You can reach technology providers, researchers, firms, and potential project partners that match your needs.
  • Accessing investment and funding opportunities: You can connect your innovative ideas and projects with potential investors and explore funding and investment opportunities.
  • Accessing the research and innovation ecosystem: You can connect with universities, research institutions, companies, and support organizations to benefit from new research and innovation opportunities.
  • Promoting technology and research outputs: You can present patents, prototypes, research results, and developed technologies to relevant stakeholders, increasing commercialization opportunities.
  • International network and market opportunities: By joining regional and international business networks, you can gain access to new markets, business partnerships, and cross-border collaborations.

The platform's matchmaking approach facilitates bringing different stakeholders together around shared interests and needs, supporting the development of new project ideas, research collaborations, and international partnerships.

Online Meetings and Digital Interaction

The STEIDA Platform reduces the need for physical meetings by enabling national and international stakeholders to come together in a digital environment. Users can schedule appointments, hold online meetings, and organize B2B meetings through the platform. This digital structure helps stakeholders located in different countries overcome time and location constraints, enabling faster and more effective communication.

A Digital Ecosystem Strengthening Collaboration in the Technology Transfer Ecosystem

The STEIDA Collaboration Platform brings together different stakeholders — primarily from academia, business, entrepreneurship, and students — at the national and international level, offering a digital ecosystem that supports knowledge sharing, joint project development, research and innovation collaborations, and technology transfer.

The structure, which allows users from different countries to join the platform through free and open access, offers not only the sharing of ideas, research, theses, needs, solutions, and project outputs but also access to reports, documents, presentations, and training materials. In this way, it supports academic knowledge and research outputs meeting the business world, innovative ideas turning into project and business opportunities, technologies and expertise gaining visibility, and the development of new collaborations.

Stakeholders who join the platform have the opportunity to discover new project partners and business connections, develop research and innovation activities, promote their expertise and solutions on an international scale, and benefit from technology transfer opportunities.
