A Fresh “Merhaba” from the KTUDELL Conference

Dear Colleagues, Scholars, and Students,

We are pleased to announce that the 11th International KTUDELL Conference on Language, Literature, and Translation will take place on 7–9 October 2026 in Trabzon, Türkiye. The conference will be hosted by the Department of Western Languages and Literature (KTUDELL), in cooperation with the School of Foreign Languages at Karadeniz Technical University.

Building on a long-standing tradition of academic exchange and collaboration, the KTUDELL Conference series has evolved into a vibrant and welcoming forum for sharing knowledge, reflecting on practice, exchanging ideas, and fostering meaningful collaboration. Continuing this tradition, the series brings together scholars, researchers, educators, and students from diverse disciplines and cultural backgrounds, creating an inclusive space for dialogue, inspiration, and mutual growth. Beyond academic sessions, the conference also provides opportunities for informal interaction, collegial exchange, and lasting memories shaped by the city’s unique atmosphere. In response to increasing interest from both within Türkiye and abroad, the conference has therefore been extended to three days.

A distinctive feature of the 11th KTUDELL Conference is its expanded and inclusive academic scope. Alongside keynote addresses by distinguished scholars, including Prof. Sarah Knight and Emeritus Professor Philip Shaw from the University of Leicester, UK, Serra Hunter Distinguished Professor Dr. Yasemin Bayyurt from the University of Lleida, Spain, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adriana Iulia Waniek from Dimitrie Cantemir Christian University, Romania, the conference welcomes contributions from established scholars and graduate researchers. This year’s conference also opens a dedicated presentation space for undergraduate students, particularly those conducting research projects supported by TÜBİTAK 2209 Undergraduate Research Programs. The KTUDELL family is determined to encourage early academic engagement, provide new researchers with their first conference experience, and support the development of future scholars.

The conference program will feature keynote speeches, paper sessions, panels, and workshops, addressing a broad range of topics including, but not limited to, language teaching and learning, linguistics, literature, translation studies, cultural studies, interdisciplinary research, and the growing role of digital technologies in the social sciences. In this context, submissions related to data mining, machine learning, digital transformation, software development, text mining, large language models, and generative artificial intelligence are also welcomed, particularly in relation to their applications across language, literature, translation, education, culture, communication, and other areas of the social sciences. This extension reflects our belief that different disciplines within the social sciences can learn from and enrich one another. By broadening the scope of the conference, we aim to create a more inclusive platform for interdisciplinary dialogue, shared perspectives, and collaborative academic growth.

We cordially invite paper and project submissions in all areas related to language, literature, translation, and their interfaces with technology, culture, and society. In addition to the conference proceedings with an ISBN number, selected papers will be considered for publication in a special issue of the International Journal of Social Sciences, a peer-reviewed journal with over nine years of publication experience in the social sciences, dedicated exclusively to papers presented at the conference. Detailed information regarding submission guidelines and full-paper formats will be announced in due course.

To ensure broad participation, the conference will be held in a hybrid format, allowing attendees to participate either in person or virtually. Presentations may be delivered in English, Russian, or Turkish, reflecting the multilingual and inclusive spirit of the conference. We warmly invite you to join us at the 11th International KTUDELL Conference, contribute to meaningful academic discussions, support emerging researchers, and be part of this continuing scholarly tradition.

Best regards,
