Spring 2025 Scientific Expedition Undertaken as Part of the 2EKO Project

On May 7–8, 2025, the spring field expedition of the BAP-13 2EKO project, titled “The Ecological and Economical Evaluation of Fish Culture in Black Sea Trout Marine Cages,” was successfully conducted aboard the KTU DENAR-1 research vessel. The expedition aimed to gather critical data and samples to assess both the ecological impacts and economic viability of trout aquaculture in the Black Sea, supporting the advancement of sustainable fish farming practices.
The research expedition was carried out with the participation of distinguished experts, including Prof. Dr. Fatma Telli Karakoç, Prof. Dr. Coşkun Erüz, Prof. Dr. Hacer Sağlam, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rafet Çağrı Öztürk, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Şahin, Assist. Prof. Dr. İlknur Yıldız, Dr. Neira Purwanty Ismail, master’s student Melike Tüysüz, and the dedicated crew of the KTU DENAR-1 research vessel.
