The Institute of Social Sciences was established in 1982 by Decree Law No. 41 of the Council of Ministers on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions.
Our Institute's mission is to run graduate programs that strengthen university-industry-public cooperation by involving internal and external stakeholders in the process, with the aim of training academicians and professionals who are academically competent in their field, committed to ethical values, competitive at national and international levels, and possess leadership qualities.
Our institute offers a total of 43 graduate programs across 17 departments, including three programs taught entirely in English. Of these programs, 11 are doctoral programs, 25 are thesis-based master's programs, and 7 are non-thesis master's programs (4 are distance learning, 2 are second-shift programs, and 1 is a non-thesis teaching program).
Our institute generally publishes student admission announcements in June for the fall semester and in December for the spring semester. All information regarding the application and registration processes for graduate programs, along with the necessary requirements, is communicated to prospective students via our website through the prepared guide.
With its young, dynamic, and well-equipped academic staff, the Institute of Social Sciences meets the needs of our country in the field of social sciences by training graduates who are suitable for the requirements of the 21st century, who are researchers, who have the ability to acquire and use knowledge, and who are creative and open to innovation.
Our students can take advantage of the wide range of opportunities offered by our University to meet their academic, social, cultural, and sporting needs. In addition, the campus is located within a 5–10 minute walking distance from services such as the airport, hospital, and shopping center, providing our students with a significant advantage.
