Objective:

The overall theme of the 2nd call of the AGROECOLOGY Partnership, one of the joint initiatives supported under the Horizon Europe Programme, is to contribute to the design of public policies to assess the performance of agroecology in its various dimensions, quantitatively measure environmental impacts, transform value chains and better support transition processes. The Partnership will fund research and innovation projects that contribute to the scope of the call, providing scientific evidence and knowledge that assess and improve the performance of agroecology in various sustainability dimensions.

Organisations that can apply;

  • Universities,
  • Education and Research Hospitals
  • Public institutions and organisations,
  • Capital companies (private organisations) resident in Turkey that create added value at company level regardless of sector and size and have a Trade Registry Certificate

 

Project coordinators.

  • If they are university staff, they must have a doctorate / specialisation in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine / proficiency in art degree.
  • If they work in public institutions or private organisations, it is sufficient to have at least four years of university undergraduate education.
  • They must be permanent/full-time staff (excluding pensioners and postdoctoral researchers not working in any institution/organisation) of the institution (higher education institutions, public institutions or private organisations) where the project will be carried out.

Budget:

Maximum EUR 190.000 per project

Per executing organisation;

  • Maximum 125.000 EUR for higher education institutions, training and research hospitals and public institutions and organisations
  • Maximum EUR 190,000 for private organisations

Support Rate:

  • 100% for higher education institutions, training and research hospitals and public institutions and organisations,
  • Large-scale private organisations 60% of their adopted budget,
  • 75% for SMEs

Duration:

Maximum 36 Months

Application Deadline:

17 February 2025 (Stage 1 International Application - 14:00 CET)

24 February 2025 (Stage 1 TÜBİTAK National Application - 23:59 TSI)

Features of the Programme:

  • The call will be supported within the framework of TÜBİTAK 1071 Programme rules. Click here for detailed information.
  • Call Title: Integrating Environmental, Economic and Social Perspectives in Assessing the Performance of Agroecology: Value Chain and Policy Opportunities. In this context, 2 topics have been identified:

o Topic 1: Identifying and Evaluating Benefits/Impacts and Mutual Benefits of Agroecology, Identifying Best Practices Under this topic, research will focus on the following themes:

  • Development of methods and procedures to address mutual benefits in agroecological production,
  • Conduct scenario analyses to identify and accelerate optimal options at different spatial and temporal scales.

o Topic 2: Transforming Value Chains, Businesses and Policies to Facilitate the Agroecological Transition This theme includes the following activities:

  • Transformation and development of new business models in value chains to facilitate the agroecological transition,
  • Increasing coordination between actors, promoting social innovations and formulating policy recommendations to strengthen the transition.

 

  • Collaborations can be established by enquiring partner proposals and requests at https://agroecology.ptj.de/partnering/list-offer-requests.
  • Project proposals should aim to address environmental, economic and social dimensions in an integrated manner when assessing the performance of agroecology. Successful projects should contribute in the following areas:
  • Providing practical information, tools and innovations to assist the adoption of agroecological practices at local, regional and national scales,
  • Increasing the capacity of farmers and agricultural advisors to implement agroecological practices and strengthening knowledge transfer,
  • Improving the socio-economic and environmental performance of agroecological approaches,
  • Strengthening science-policy interfaces to accelerate the transition.
  • Consortia should include three eligible partners from at least three different participating countries. (The list of participating countries is included in the call text).
