Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Şükrü ÖZBAY

Ali Şükrü ÖZBAY holds his BA in English Language and Literature from Ankara University and MA from KTU, Applied Linguistics Program and PhD from the English Language and Literature department of KTU. His main areas of interest include Corpus Linguistics and Learner Corpora, translation studies, listening comprehension strategies, academic writing and error analysis, and Phraseology. He has published research articles and book chapters on corpus linguistics, phraseology, data-driven learning, meta-discourse, semantic prosody and lexical priming. Associated Professor Dr. Özbay is currently the Departmental Coordinator of Erasmus Exchange Programs, and a faculty member at Karadeniz Technical University, Turkey.

 

 

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Zeki ÇIRAKLI

Mustafa Zeki ÇIRAKLI holds his PhD from METU, Ankara, Turkey (2010) and specializes in Narratology. He is the author of Narrative Strategies and Meaning (included in ENN Publication list; 2010) and Anlatıbilim: Kuramsal Okumalar (Narratology: Critical Readings; 2015; shortlisted for the best books of the year, Turkey, 2015). Furthermore, Çıraklı is the translator of Paul de Man’s Allegories of Reading, Figural Language in Rousseau, Nietzsche, Rilke and Proust; with an introductory chapter and critical notes; 2009). His translation A. N. Wilson’s Dante in Love appeared in 2013 and his collection of aphorisms (W/Ars Poetica) was published in 2019. Since 2010, he has been publishing a series of articles on narratology, and recently on corpus stylistics and education dealing with both theory and practice. He is the editor of the International Journal of Narrative and Language Studies. He is contributing to a TUBITAK project on Corpus Linguistics (2021). Çıraklı is currently a working group member of a European project (COST): Writing Urban Places and a faculty member at KTU, Turkey.

 

 

Tuncer AYDEMİR

Tuncer Aydemir holds his BA in English Language and Literature, and MA in Applied Linguistics from Karadeniz Technical University. His main areas of interest include Applied Linguistics, especially semantics, phraseology, and corpus linguistics studies. He has published several research articles in these fields. He is currently studying for a PhD degree in English Language and Literature at Ataturk University and working as a research assistant at Karadeniz Technical University.
 

 

Zehra GÜRSOY

Zehra GÜRSOY is an MA student in Applied Linguistics program at Karadeniz Technical University. She holds her BA degree with high honours at the same university’s English Language and Literature department. Her main areas of interest include applied linguistics, especially phraseology and learner corpus studies. She has a book published and several articles in progress in these fields. She has experience in English teaching and is currently working as a research assistant at Karadeniz Technical University.

Ayşenur Hoşoğlu holds her BA in English Language and Literature, and MA in Applied Linguistics (in progress) from Karadeniz Technical University. Her main research areas include corpus linguistics and learner corpora, data-driven learning, translation studies, academic writing, and critical discourse analysis.

Buse UZUNER holds her BA in English Language and Literature with high honours degree from Karadeniz Technical University. She is currently an MA student in Applied Linguistics program at the same university. Her main areas of interest include corpus linguistics, learner corpora, data-driven learning, meta-discourse, and academic writing. She also has national and international experience in English Teaching and Corpus Linguistics.

 

 

Tuğba ÇITLAK

Tuğba ÇITLAK holds her BA in English Language and Literature, and MA in Applied Linguistics in progress from Karadeniz Technical University. She has attended an Erasmus exchange program and studied at the Pedagogy Faculty at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Usti nad Labem, Czechia. She has worked as an English teacher at Trabzon Manchester Language Schools for one year. She has done her internship as a content writer for two months at MBC Home, an agency in Lisbon, Portugal. Her main areas of interest include applied linguistics, corpus linguistics, learner corpora, EFL students’ writing, academic writing, language anxiety, translation studies, and phraseology.

Tekin Al is currently studying English Language and Literature at Karadeniz Technical University. His main areas of interest include English Literature, fantastic literature, corpus linguistics, data-driven learning, computer-based learning, computers and problem-solving. He is also studying Computer programming at Atatürk University.

 

 

Beceste TAMTÜRK
Technical Assistant

Beceste TAMTÜRK is currently studying English Language and Literature at Karadeniz Technical University. Having a background in the area of English Literature in High School, she developed a curious mind about the History of English Literature. Her main areas of interest include English Literature, Corpus Linguistics, computer-based learning, and Literary Translation.
