Turkey's Leading Companies were visited within the scope of Technical Trip.

As part of the technical trip organised by the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of our University between 15 - 18 May 2024, a technical trip was organised to companies in Samsun, Kocaeli and Ankara.

The technical trip started on 15th May with Yeşilyurt Demir Çelik ve Liman İşletmeleri A.Ş. located in Samsun Tekkeköy OSB. Smelting, casting, rolling mill departments and R&D laboratories, which are the basis of metallurgy, were visited by our department head Prof. Dr. Aykut ÇANAKÇI, accompanied by the academic staff and students.

On 16th and 17th May, Kanca El Aletleri Dövme Çelik ve Makine Sanayi AŞ, Gühring Takım Sanayi Tic. Ltd. Şti. and Sima Dış Tic. Alüminyum Sananayi A.Ş. companies were visited. The R&D, Human Resources and Occupational Health and Safety departments provided information on career opportunities, OHS policies/rules and R&D activities. Activities about production and workflows were shared with field tours.

On 18th May, TUSAŞ XL event held in Ankara was participated as part of a technical trip. Seminars, flight demonstrations and exhibitions of domestic production aircraft were attended.

Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Aykut ÇANAKÇI, expressed his appreciation to the company officials who accepted us and hosted us in the best way, and souvenir photos were taken.

We would like to thank our Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah ÇUVALCI, Head of the Department Prof. Dr. Aykut ÇANAKÇI and Kanca El Aletleri Dövme Çelik ve Makine Sanayi AŞ., Sima Dış Tic.Alüminyum San. A.Ş, Yeşilyurt Demir Çelik ve Liman İşletmeleri A.Ş., Gühring Takım San. Tic. Ltd. Şti. for their great efforts in the organisation of this technical trip in which approximately 40 students participated.
