Conference on "Strategic Materials in Defence Industry" was held.

Conference on "Strategic Materials in Defence Industry" organized jointly with KTU Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Gebze Technical University, GALSIAD, Sima Aluminium, Saha Istanbul was held with the participation of Celalettin KIRBOZ, Murat CIGLI and Prof. Dr. Mustafa TÜRKMEN. The organization, which was held in our department's lecture hall, was attended by our Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah ÇUVALCI, founder of the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Prof. Dr. Fazlı ARSLAN, Head of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department Prof. Dr. Aykut ÇANAKÇI, academic staff, administrative staff and many students.

Head of Department Prof. Dr. Aykut ÇANAKÇI stated that the background in training the new, young, and dynamic engineer model started with effort, and mentioned that the importance of the conference in terms of developing connections between industry and university and finding a common ground. The concept of "T Type Human Model" needed by industry was also mentioned. He expressed his happiness in bringing together the students here with Turkish companies that are competent in the field of Defence Industry and the materials used, which are one of the most important industries of today.

The Large Share of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in the Defense Industry was Highlighted

There was great interest in the organization. At the conference, where almost the entire capacity of the hall was filled, participants shared information about the current place of the defence industry, the importance of aluminium alloys in the defence industry, production methods, standards and quality certifications in the defence industry. In addition, the qualifications that considering by companies to newly graduated engineers during the interviews and in business life were discussed.
