Who can participate?

Our General English Course, which KTU students and staff, other university students and staff and the entire Trabzon community can attend, will start at A1, A2, B1 and B2 levels and will last 12 weeks. For each level, trainees will receive education in classes supported by smart board software within a program of 9 lessons per week.

How are levels determined?

Each level of training (e.g. A1 level lasts throughout the spring semester) is completed in a 12-week period. The level for which the candidates will register will be determined by the Placement Exam, which will be held face-to-face on Friday, March 1, 2024, at 16.00 in the School of Foreign Languages ??Preparatory School Building, Block C, 2nd Floor, Hall C201. Candidates who do not take the exam can participate in the course at the level they specify. For this, it will be sufficient for them to contact us on our number and e-mail address.

What is the course content?

In our courses, education is provided in accordance with the format of international language proficiency exams, in a way that will improve all four language skills. A Main Course book and online activities at the relevant level are completed. An End-of-Level Exam is held at the end of the course.

How do I obtain the materials?

Course materials (Headway Coursebook) are obtained by students themselves.

How long does the education at a level last?

The course fee stated in the announcement is for one level / one semester. Each level training lasts 12 weeks.

Where and how are classes held?

General English course classes are held face-to-face at the KTU School of Foreign Languages ??Preparatory School Building.

When does the course start and end?

04 March 2024 – 31 May 2024

On what days and times are classes held?

Monday 17.00 – 20.00

Wednesday 17.00 – 20.00

Thursday 17.00 – 20.00

How can I register?

For university students registration is conducted online between 29 January 2024 and 04 March 2024 through the KTU/BYS system. Registration for candidates who are not university students can be conducted at online.ktu.edu.tr. Our special promotional price for this period is 3500 TL for all trainees. This fee is the total fee for the semester and cannot be paid in installments.

To register for this program:

If you are a KTU student, select the "GENERAL ENGLISH" course from the "MY COURSES" tab in the "KTÜ BYS" system and follow the procedure after 3 below from the "REGISTRATION" menu.

* If you are not a registered KTU student, follow the steps below:

1. Click on the "REGISTRATION" tab at online.ktu.edu.tr, register with the required information and then verify your e-mail.

2. After verification, log in to online.ktu.edu.tr.

3. Select Course Announcements from the Training and Courses tab.

4. On the page that opens, click on the “REGISTRATION” tab and create your registration.

5. Deposit the course fee of 3500 TL to Ziraat Bank's IBAN number "TR 8300 0100 1225 1182 5144 5010" (Recipient: K.T.Ü. Döner Sermaye Saymanlığı ) with the description "YDYO Genel İngilizce Kursu". Writing a description is essential for payment identification.

6. Upload the image of the receipt in "PDF FORMAT" to the receipt upload section in the "MY COURSES" tab in the "KTÜ BYS" system.

7. Send an e-mail to muratozturk@ktu.edu.tr along with the image of the receipt, including your mobile phone number and information about the level you want to study (for example A1, A2, B1, B2) if you are not going to take the Placement Exam.
