INTERNSHIP PROCEDURES

  1. CAREER GATE PROCESS

Determining the internship location (General Directorate of Forestry, private forestry companies, other organizations engaged in forestry activities) Students who will intern in government institutions (Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, General Directorate of Forestry, etc.) must apply through the career gate during the specified dates to be able to intern. After applying through the career gate, students who receive offers must accept them for the desired period (summer semester) if they wish to intern. When selecting the internship period, students must plan their daily internship duration within 20-40 working days according to the guidelines. The internship period to be counted for internship must be adjusted as follows: for students who do not have makeup exams, it should start on the first working day after the end of the semester exams; for students with makeup exams, it should start on the first working day after the end of the makeup exams. The final internship deadline is until the start date of the subsequent semester. Students must complete their internships before the start of the semester. Students who will intern in private forestry companies do not need to apply through the career gate. After agreements are made with private companies, they can proceed to the "BYS PROCESS AND INSURANCE PROCEDURES" section.

  1. BYS PROCESS AND INSURANCE PROCEDURES

To complete insurance procedures, each student must fill out the internship application form below and obtain a health provision document (available via e-government) and apply through their own KTU BYS system. Insurance procedures must be completed at least 20 days before the internship start date. The insurance application through the KTU BYS system must be done only via a computer in full-screen mode on an internet browser. Otherwise, progress tabs may not appear in some cases. Also, issues may arise when applying via mobile devices. The application stage includes three sections for file uploading: "provision", "internship agreement", and "other documents (necessary documents for workplace approval)". Since an internship agreement is not requested during the application stage, no file needs to be added to the "internship agreement" section. The health provision document in PDF format should be added to the "provision" section. The internship application form should be added as a ZIP or 7z file to the "other documents (necessary documents for workplace approval)" section. It is essential that the email address of the employer on the internship application form and BYS system is correct. Students must pay attention to this. The internship will be terminated with the confirmation message sent to the last authorized person's email during the internship termination process. After completing the application process, please verify that all required documents have been uploaded without any omissions. Required Documents for Insurance Procedures: 1- Internship Application Form (click here to download) 2- Family health aid inquiry document 3- Copy of identity card (front and back, single page) 4- Health Provision Document (obtainable via SGK or e-government)

Note-1: Students who will intern can obtain their SGK Job Entry Declarations from www.turkiye.gov.tr (e-government), under the "4A Job Entry-Exit Declaration" section. Note-2: Responsibility for applying for and tracking insurance procedures through BYS lies entirely with the student. After applying through BYS, the "Status" section must show "Internship accepted" to confirm the insurance application. Otherwise, your insurance application will not be approved. Internships of students whose insurance applications are not approved will not be accepted in any way. Note-3: All processes are carried out online via the BYS system. No documents will be accepted in person. After the internship application form is signed and stamped by the authorized person of the employer institution, it must be uploaded to the system. The student must also sign the application form. There is no need for the internship commission member to sign the application form. For questions regarding the steps in the BYS Internship Management System Guide, technical support can be obtained from the Technical Support Guide.
