In the Civil Engineering program, training and research are provided on subjects related to the design, planning, projecting, construction and inspection of service structures and industrial structures such as bridges, roads, tunnels, dams and airports. Civil Engineering is divided into areas of expertise such as structural engineering, foundation engineering, water engineering, and materials science. The Department of Civil Engineering aims to carry out education, research and community service activities at universal standards, to produce knowledge and technology, to apply and share it in order to contribute to regional and national development, and to train engineers who are culturally equipped, researchers and able to produce solutions to problems.

Department Facilities

Each classroom in the Faculty of Technology, Department of Civil Engineering has 1 computer, 1 projector and internet connection. Equipment in technology class; computer, projector, electronic smart board, overhead projector, episcope and printer.

Faculty of Technology has Hydraulics, Soil, Transportation and Materials Laboratories to carry out the Civil Engineering Program. In addition, the existing Design Studio of the Faculty of Technology, Civil Engineering Program will also be used for basic computer education. The Design Studio has 50 student computers, projectors, electronic smart boards and printers. Program Profile

The aim of the program is to ensure that our students receive education with a modern undergraduate program, to enable them to receive education and training from experts in their fields, and to train qualified engineers with good laboratory facilities during education and training, taking into account the lack of civil engineers needed in our country.

The educational and training objectives of the Civil Engineering program can be listed as follows:

* Strong national ties, internationally recognized,
* Producing projects at regional, national and international level,
* Raising effective engineers of the future,
* High capacity to conduct scientific research,
* Having an effective communication and collaboration infrastructure,
* Taking a leadership role in the regional development process,
* Using their physical resources effectively,
* Ensuring the satisfaction of its employees and students,
* It aims to be a department that can meet the requirements of the program criteria.

Within the scope of the program, students are subjected to a midterm exam, mid-term work (project, seminar, quiz, homework, or a second midterm exam) and final exam for each course. In addition, the Civil Engineering Program includes 60 working days Professional Internship (Professional Experience I, Professional Experience II) and VII. A one-term "Workplace Training" is required during the semester. For this reason, during the internship periods, students will be allowed to do internships in institutions where they have been accepted for internship as a result of their individual initiatives, if deemed appropriate.

The Civil Engineering undergraduate education program includes a total of 151.5 credits of courses. 25% of these courses (38 credits) consist of elective courses. In order to graduate from the Civil Engineering Program, a total of 151.5 credits of courses and 20 credits of engineering practice specified in the curriculum must be completed, as well as successful completion of internships in accordance with the internship directive. Those who successfully complete the four-year education program are awarded a bachelor's degree. In order for this diploma to be awarded, the student's GPA must be at least 2.00 out of 4.00. Graduates of the program will receive the title of "Civil Engineer".

Employment Profiles of Graduates

Job opportunities are almost endless for graduates of the Department of Civil Engineering. They can create their own private job opportunities if they wish, or they can work in local or foreign construction companies doing business domestically or abroad.

Considering the fields in which they can be employed, as an engineer with signature authority, Civil Engineers are employed by the Ministry of Public Works, State Hydraulic Works, Special Provincial Administration, Bank of Provinces, Highways, Airports, Municipalities, etc., which employ a large number of Civil Engineers due to the work they undertake. Public institutions such as local governments, universities and research institutions for those who tend to be academics are among the first things that come to mind. In addition, Civil Engineers are employed extensively by the private sector for various contracting, consultancy and control services. Considering that it is a legal obligation for any structure planned to be produced to receive Civil Engineering services, including the project phase, the diversity of the working areas of our graduates becomes evident.

Graduates who will receive training formation will be able to work as "Technical Teachers" in the relevant departments of Technical, Industrial Vocational, Anatolian Vocational High Schools and Vocational Training Centers affiliated to the Ministry of National Education.
