· Application-oriented curriculum

Our department, which has a different structure from the curricula of civil engineering departments of engineering faculties, has determined a mission to improve the application skills of its students and increase their practical knowledge and has adopted a working system accordingly. Therefore, although it has a curriculum equivalent to other engineering departments in terms of theoretical courses, in order to gain application skills and practical knowledge, the engineering curriculum includes a total of 60 days of summer internship during at least 2 holiday periods and also a 14-week workplace training (in the 7th semester).

Although there are differences with the curriculum of the Civil Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering, the Interuniversity Board (ÜAK), which met on June 27, 2014, decided that "the titles of our Faculty of Technology graduates are equivalent to those of the Faculty of Engineering graduates." Based on this decision, the new procedural decision taken by the Higher Education Executive Board dated 09.07.2014 and numbered 4407 eliminated the contradiction regarding equivalence. Thus, the authorities, rights and laws of engineers graduated from other engineering faculties are the same as those of engineers graduated from our faculty, there is no difference between them. In addition, civil engineers who graduate from the faculty of technology have the right to become a member of the Chamber of Civil Engineering (IMO) affiliated with the Union of Chambers of Architects and Engineers of Turkey (TMMOB).

Postgraduate (Master's + Doctoral) education for graduates of engineering departments of the faculty of technology is organized in the same way as in engineering faculties.

· Student counseling

In accordance with our department's regulation regarding undergraduate education, all students are assigned advisors from among the faculty members. These counselors deal with all kinds of problems that students may encounter, as much as possible, as well as monitoring the student's administrative affairs such as determining course hours and grades. The advisors' duties continue until the student leaves the university.

Scholarship services

In order to facilitate the education process of students in need at our university, support is provided with meals and cash scholarships within the scope of social assistance. In addition, the procedures for loans and scholarships given to university students every year by the General Directorate of Credit and Dormitories Institution and the Prime Ministry are carried out by the Student Affairs Department.

· Horizontal transfer within the university

Students who are enrolled in an education program at our university and are successful in their education have the opportunity to transfer to an equivalent program that is more suitable to their wishes, abilities and other special circumstances during their education. Horizontal transfer within the university is carried out in accordance with the Principles of Horizontal Transfer Between Associate and Undergraduate Departments/Programs of our University.

· Double major and minor program

Our students who successfully complete their undergraduate programs have the opportunity to receive a bachelor's degree in a second branch of their interest (Double Major Program) or to study in another branch (Minor Program).

· The place of our graduates in working life

Considering that it is a legal obligation for any structure planned to be produced to receive civil engineering services, including the project phase, the diversity of the working areas of our graduates becomes evident.

Job opportunities are almost endless for graduates of civil engineering. They can create their own private job opportunities if they wish, or they can work in local or foreign construction companies doing business domestically or abroad.

Considering the fields in which they can be employed, as engineers with signature authority, civil engineers are employed by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, State Hydraulic Works, Special Provincial Administration, Bank of Provinces, Highways, Airports, Municipalities, etc., which employ many civil engineers due to the work they undertake. Public institutions such as local governments, universities and research institutions for those who tend to be academics are among the first things that come to mind. In addition, civil engineers are employed extensively in the private sector for various contracting, consultancy and control services.

In addition, graduates of civil engineering departments within the faculties of technology, who have educational formation fields, can also work as "Technical Teachers" in the relevant departments of Technical, Industrial Vocational, Anatolian Vocational High Schools and Vocational Training Centers affiliated with the Ministry of National Education.

· Sports facilities

Our faculty, which undertakes to support our students and faculty members in sports as well as educational activities, provides free use of the football, volleyball, basketball and tennis courts and the fitness center within the campus. In addition, many tournaments and competitions are organized throughout the year between the teams formed by our willing students and other departments and faculties in which they can participate.

Our students can also benefit from the indoor semi-Olympic swimming pool affiliated with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, adjacent to the faculty campus.

· Food and Accommodation services

There is a cafeteria with a capacity of 100 people and a canteen with a capacity of 80 people on campus, which our students can use. In addition, the state student dormitory belonging to the Credit and Dormitories Institution, with a total capacity of 450 people, 150 girls and 300 boys, is only 50 m away from our campus. In this dormitory, our students are provided with food for breakfast and dinner, 24-hour hot water and wireless internet services for 7 days.

·         Transport

The campus where our department is located is approximately 52 km away from Trabzon city center, and transportation to here is provided by minibuses going to Of or Çaykara districts and public transportation vehicles of Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality. It is possible to reach the campus from the city center almost any time between 6 in the morning and 9 at night.
