Established 1955, Karadeniz Technical University (KTU), is one of the oldest and well-established universities in Turkey where education and research activities are closely integrated with modern infrastructure, modern laboratories, good industry relations and well qualified staff. KTU was the first university to be established outside the main industrial and educational hubs of Istanbul and Ankara. In addition to the formal educational activities, many scientific researchers and studies are carried out in various fields thanks to its well qualified staff. In parallel with these efforts many national and multinational projects have been implemented in cooperation with universities, research centers, industry and public authorities to support these activities.

KTU has been involved more than 80 European Union funded projects (HORIZON2020, Erasmus+, Black Sea Cross Border Cooperation, Human Resources Development Operating Structure, COST Programmes etc.) as a project leader, project partner or associate. In this direction, many products/services have been invented/renewed and commercialized both at the regional, national and international levels.
