Improvements

1. Improvements Implemented Based on the Department Quality Commission Meeting Outcomes

As a result of the opinions, suggestions, and requests received during the meetings held with the Department Quality Commission, the following improvements were made in 2025:

  • Updating the Quality Assurance System Calendar and publishing the updated version on the department website

  • Creating a WhatsApp group titled KTÜ Of TF İnşaat Mühendisliği Mezunları to strengthen communication with graduates and make it more accessible

  • Establishing a WhatsApp channel titled KTÜ Of Teknoloji İnşaat Mühendisliği to ensure effective communication with current students

  • Creating a QR code for student petitions and complaints and publishing it on the department website


2. Improvements from Students and the Student Quality Commission

Based on the feedback, suggestions, and requests received from our students and from the Student Quality Commission meetings, the following improvements were made in 2025:

  • Selecting one student as the Department Student Representative for the Department Quality Commission through an interview process conducted among eligible candidates

  • Making several improvements in the shared room belonging to the student club and Genç İMO within the department

  • Installing a Card Access System at the main entrances of the departments to enhance security, in response to students’ requests for electronic card access to faculty and department buildings

  • Increasing the number and variety of printed resources in the library in line with students’ requests for more books and reference materials


3. Improvements Made for Education and Training Processes

  • Making adjustments to the department course plan (adding and removing courses) and updating course contents to align with MÜDEK outcomes as part of the accreditation process

  • Conducting “Inclined Plane” and “Free Fall” experiments under the coordination of the course instructor for Physics I, within the scope of continuous improvement of teaching and learning services under the accreditation studies

  • Defining program learning outcomes (PLOs) prepared according to MÜDEK 3.0 for each department course, creating a detailed course–PLO matrix, and subsequently preparing midterm exam papers in accordance with PLO formats and implementing them in assessments


4. Improvements in Physical Environment, Occupational Health, and Safety

In order to provide a safe, accessible, and sustainable educational environment for students and staff throughout the Of Technology Faculty campus, the following improvements were implemented in 2025:

  • Installing railings in previously empty stair landing areas within the department building

  • Increasing the height of stair railings in the faculty and department buildings from approximately 90 cm to 110 cm to meet safety standards, and replacing old chrome railings with stronger and more durable railing systems

  • Replacing deformed materials on the roof of the department’s lighting structure

  • Replacing the motion-sensor lamp in the parking area

These improvements are regularly monitored within the scope of our department’s and faculty’s quality assurance system and are updated in line with new needs and stakeholder feedback.
