KTU is one of 17 Turkish Universities with at least 8 Science Areas in the 2022-2023 URAP
The University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) Research Laboratory within the METU Graduate School of Informatics, which prepares Turkish and world university rankings to inform higher education institutions and the public, has ranked world universities according to their fields of science.
URAP aims to examine the positions of universities in our country and developing countries in world rankings with scientific methods and helping universities to identify their areas open to improvement.
URAP provides an assessment of the academic performance of universities in the last 5 years (2017-2021). In the last one, 3000 universities from 121 different countries were included in this evaluation. URAP evaluated higher education institutions based on 6 criteria (number of articles, number of citations, total number of documents, total article impact, total citation impact, and international collaboration).
Turkish universities ranked in the URAP are METU, Hacettepe University, Istanbul University, Yıldız Technical University, Gazi University, Atatürk University, Ege University, I. D. Bilkent University, Ankara University, Koç University, Boğaziçi University, Near East University, Fırat University, Karadeniz Technical Technical University, Marmara University, and Dokuz Eylül University.
